Day 1
Arrive Paro — Thimphu
The approach into Paro is one of the more dramatic landings anywhere. Drive to Thimphu, evening at leisure.

Day 2
Thimphu
Buddha Dordenma, the National Memorial Chorten, the takin preserve and the weekend market if the day fits.

Day 3
Thimphu to Punakha
Over the Dochula pass with its chortens and, on a clear day, the eastern Himalaya. Afternoon at Punakha Dzong.

Day 4
Punakha
Walk to Chimi Lhakhang through the rice fields, then the Punakha suspension bridge.

Day 5
Punakha to Paro
Return west. Afternoon at Rinpung Dzong and the National Museum.

Day 6
Tiger's Nest
The hike up to Taktsang — four to five hours return, steep but manageable at a steady pace. Ponies available for the first half.

Depart Paro
Transfer to the airport.
